Senior Software Engineer - ML & AI (AI Products)

Description: Design, build, and own production systems for Xero’s AI features, focusing on LLM-driven and agentic experiences. Collaborate with a diverse team to enhance engineering capability across AI Products and ensure systems are reliable and cost-effective. Requirements: Proven experience in designing and operating production-grade backend systems at scale. Proficiency in Python or similar languages (Go, Java, Kotlin, TypeScript) with strong system design fundamentals. Familiarity with APIs, cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), CI/CD, and observability practices. Experience with SQL and large-scale data processing. Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to varied audiences. Coaching mindset with the ability to mentor engineers.
