Sr. Software Engineer (MXC)

Do work that matters. At AlertMedia, we help organizations protect their people, operations, and brand. Our modern Risk Intelligence and Response platform empowers teams to detect emerging threats, assess impact, and respond with confidence. We believe building resilience should be simpler—and it starts with bringing critical information and workflows together in one unified platform. Our core values drive us in our important mission of keeping people safe & informed: • We’re humans not robots • Customers always come first • We work better together • Simplicity is our strength • Our reputation is priceless • Hard work pays off As one of the fastest-growing software companies in the country, AlertMedia is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer with full-stack experience. This role is on our Incident Response team. Customers use Incident Response during an active emergency — to declare an incident, assess who and what is affected, assign tasks, and coordinate the response across the organization. As an AI-forward company, we actively use modern AI tools such as Claude, Codex, and other emerging technologies to help our engineers work smarter, move faster, and build better products. Who you are: You thrive in a collaborative engineering environment that plays to everyone’s strengths with a willingness to work across the entire stack. You’ve developed scalable production web applications in Python/Django/Next.js/React. You design for people operating under pressure, and you think as carefully about the failure paths as the happy path. You care about the quality of your work, the impactful product you help build, and the team you help build it with. You have AWS (or other cloud) experience and are willing to learn from people with both more and less experience than you. You are a user of AI-assisted development tools that improve engineering workflows, code quality, and team productivity. What you get to do every day: • Design and develop features for the AlertMedia Incident Response product • Build features that hold up during live emergencies — correct under load, and predictable when a dependency degrades • Learn the AlertMedia platform, its tools, and how customers use them • Work with Python, Django, Next.js, React, Node, and other web technologies • Use AI-enabled tools such as Claude, Codex, and other emerging platforms to support development, problem-solving, documentation, and productivity • Work in an Agile-based environment using tools like Git, JIRA, Jenkins, and Slack • Help maintain AlertMedia’s technology advantage over other solutions through innovative development and by contributing new ideas for leveraging technology in our product line • Use strong verbal and written communication skills in collaboration with other engineering and product teams • Contribute to AlertMedia’s culture, values and vision for the future What you bring to the role: • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field preferred • 6+ years of experience building scalable web applications, Python/Django/React/Node tech stack preferred • Experience with Linux-based containers using tools like Docker or Kubernetes • Experience with Amazon Web Services (or other cloud services) is required • Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and other storage technologies is required • You have an established practice of writing unit and integration tests • Proficiency using AI coding tools (Claude, Cursor, Codex, or similar) across the development lifecycle • Collaborative mindset to partner with principal engineers and leadership to drive architectural evolution for a critical application • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage working on multiple projects in parallel • The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment • Outstanding communication skills and ability to effectively work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, challenging environment • Strong English proficiency (written and oral) is required Location: This role is remote in Mexico. We do have a Mexico City office in the Reforma area if you’d like to go into the office and collaborate with our engineering team, otherwise it is a fully remote position based in Mexico. Sponsorship: AlertMedia does not sponsor candidates. Must have the legal right to work in Mexico without sponsorship now and in the future. Why you’ll love working at AlertMedia: • Competitive Base Salary (Bi-Monthly payroll) • Annual Company Bonus • 100% Employer-Paid Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage • Parental Leave Program • Christmas Bonus (Aguinaldo) • Generous Vacation and Holiday Policy • Additional Vacation Bonus • Monthly Work-from-Home Stipend • All Necessary Equipment Provided: Laptop, monitor and accessories • Recognition & Rewards: We celebrate wins big and small • Language Immersion Program with employees spread out across the globe (English, Spanish, etc…depending on your interest) • Continuous Learning & Growth: From mentorship and tech talks to personalized 1:1 career development sessions, we’re deeply committed to investing in your professional journey • Award Winning Culture: We’re proud to be recognized as a BEST WORKPLACE FOR 10 YEARS IN A ROW • The Work & People: We’re passionate about the meaningful work we do—and even more grateful for the incredible people we get to do it with!
