At Emma, you’ll join a driven, international team that values ownership, collaboration, and continuous knowledge sharing. With colleagues from over 70 nationalities, we combine diverse perspectives with a shared ambition to learn, grow, and create lasting impact, together. Ready to awaken your best with us? About The Role We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Accountant to own the full receivables cycle for one of our 11 EMEA markets, within Emma’s Finance team. You will be responsible for billing, collections, credit control, revenue recognition and reporting, protecting cash flow, and giving the business a clear view of its debt position. You’ll report to the Accounts Receivable Manager and work closely with key stakeholders, ranging from Wholesale EU and Operations to Customer Excellence and Controlling. What You’ll Do: Own the end-to-end accounts receivable cycle for your market, from billing to cash collection, ensuring every invoice is accurate, timely and collected. Lead collections and credit control, proactively managing overdue balances, payment reminders and disputes directly with clients and external BPO partners. Act as guardian of revenue by owning accurate and complete revenue recognition and actively contributing to a timely and reliable month-end closing process. Manage the ticket-based inquiry flow for your market, ensuring every request is assigned, followed up and resolved promptly across all stakeholders involved. Deliver reporting on total debt, DSO, biggest debtors, average time to pay and collected debt, spotting trends early to prevent issues from escalating. Drive your core KPIs: Aging over 15 days, Backlog Recovery, Collection Effectiveness Index and Total Overdue, taking accountability for your market results. Build strong relationships with clients and internal teams and lead meetings with Sales to align on top debts, market dynamics and recovery priorities. Identify and implement process improvements that raise the efficiency and accuracy of accounts receivable, while keeping records compliant with policies and regulations. Who We’re Looking For: You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or a related field, providing a solid foundation for your accounting work. You bring 2+ years of experience in accounting operations, accounts receivable, billing, collections or credit control, ideally within a B2B or wholesale environment. You have hands-on experience in billing and customer contact, within credit control or collections, and are comfortable negotiating payments with clients. You have a strong understanding of the full order-to-cash cycle and solid accounting knowledge, including revenue recognition and month-end closing practices. You are autonomous and proactive: you spot problems, raise your hand, and suggest solutions. You think in a structured way, prioritize well, connect the dots between debts, clients and markets, and communicate clearly with stakeholders at every level. You are fluent in English, with French being highly desirable. What We Offer: The opportunity to create real impact, take ownership and accountability, and drive meaningful change. Continuous learning and development through hands-on experience, mentoring, formal training, and access to tools such as our Learning Hub and Nilo. A collaborative community of smart, driven people where you learn, contribute, and connect, every day and through team events. A global environment, working daily with diverse perspectives across 4 offices and 70+ nationalities. Private Health Insurance and 24 vacation days per year, with 1 extra day per year worked (until a limit of 29 days per year). A flexible hybrid setup with up to 22 remote days per quarter. A modern, pet-friendly office in Parque das Nações, Lisbon. Become an Emmie We are on a mission to become No.1 in the world of sleep, and we’re looking for driven, ambitious people to help us shape what’s next. If you’re curious, hands-on, and ready to challenge the status quo, you’ll find the space here to make things happen and create real impact.
