Senior Backend Engineer

Description: Monte Carlo is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build backend services and distributed systems for their agent trust platform. The role involves taking problem statements from prototype to deployed product, primarily focusing on backend development with some frontend work in React. Requirements: 5+ years of experience in shipping production backend services, strong in Python or equivalent backend language. Proven experience in building and scaling distributed systems, with knowledge of reliability, consistency, and observability. Ability to take ambiguous problems from concept to deployment, demonstrating urgency and ownership. Experience with data pipelines or data-heavy systems on AWS; familiarity with PySpark and ML platforms is a plus. Frontend experience, ideally with React, to complete features; experience with agentic or LLM-powered systems is a strong plus.
