Lead Backend Engineer (Java) | FlintN

Description: Lead the technical direction of backend domains (payments, routing, subscriptions, chargebacks) including architecture and roadmap. Manage a team of backend engineers through task planning, code reviews, mentoring, and onboarding. Design and deliver distributed, high-throughput, fault-tolerant services and APIs. Ensure service quality in production, including SLOs, observability, and incident response. Oversee the release process for your domain, ensuring safe migrations and validations. Requirements: Strong system design skills for payment domain architecture. Expertise in Java (17/21) and Spring Boot 3.x, with knowledge of concurrency and transactional boundaries. Production experience with event-driven architecture on Kafka. Advanced Postgres skills including data modeling and schema migrations. Experience with Kubernetes/AWS and familiarity with Terraform and Helm. Knowledge of analytical/OLAP storage systems. Strong observability practices and metrics management. Expertise in payments domain processes and security practices. Ownership of engineering processes including CI/CD and incident management.
