Staff Machine Learning Scientist

Description: Seeking a Staff Machine Learning Scientist to grow the Machine Learning Science team at Freenome. Responsible for developing algorithms for early blood-based cancer detection tests using ML/DL methods. Collaborate with computational and molecular biologists to design research experiments. Role can be hybrid (2-3 days in office) or remote, reporting to the Director of Machine Learning Science. Requirements: PhD or equivalent in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Statistics, etc.) with AI emphasis. 6+ years of postdoc or industry experience in machine learning and deep learning. Proven expertise in independent research and impactful modeling techniques. Strong understanding of ML/DL models and training paradigms. Proficient in programming languages (Python, R, etc.) and ML frameworks (Pytorch, Tensorflow). Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
