Financial Analyst
About this role
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and analytical Financial Analyst to support the company’s financial operations and provide accurate, timely financial information to leadership. This role will be responsible for bookkeeping, financial reporting, profit and loss analysis, account reconciliation, budgeting, and helping leadership understand the financial health and performance of the business. The ideal candidate has strong accounting and bookkeeping knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to turn financial data into clear, actionable insights. This person must be trustworthy, organized, and comfortable working with sensitive financial information. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Bookkeeping & Accounting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Categorize and record business transactions accurately.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts.
- Review accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Assist with invoicing, payments, and expense tracking.
- Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks or other accounting software.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Prepare and analyze Profit & Loss (P&L) statements.
- Review balance sheets, cash flow reports, and other financial statements.
- Track revenue, expenses, gross profit, and net profit.
- Compare actual financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Provide leadership with clear summaries of financial performance. Financial Analysis
- Analyze company spending and identify areas for improvement.
- Monitor margins, profitability, and operating expenses.
- Identify financial trends, discrepancies, and potential issues.
- Assist with forecasting revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
- Help develop budgets and financial projections.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to improve profitability and financial performance. Administrative & Financial Support
- Maintain organized financial documentation and records.
- Assist leadership with financial questions and reporting requests.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with small to mid-sized businesses.
- Experience with budgeting and financial forecasting.
- Experience preparing management-level financial reports.
- Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Experience working with multiple companies, entities, or business units.
- Knowledge of cash-flow management and financial KPIs.
- Experience working with contractors, home-service businesses, or other service-based companies is a plus.
