Senior Software Engineer - Backend

Description: Lead the engineering efforts in your team, solving complex problems and raising coding standards. Own significant features and services, ensuring they are architected for scalability and minimal dependencies. Ship production-ready, self-documenting code and set standards for AI-assisted development. Apply TDD, refactor for testability, and ensure all code is tested before merging. Diagnose issues systematically and participate in on-call duties. Identify vulnerabilities in code and design features with security in mind. Communicate blockers and drive continuous improvement within the team. Mentor teammates and maintain documentation for team context. Requirements: 5–8 years of experience in building production software with ownership of live systems. Proficiency in at least one of DZ's stacks (TypeScript, Go, C#) and knowledge of Postgres and AWS. Expertise in service interactions and data flow within a domain. Strong understanding of security practices and payment-surface threats. Ability to weigh cost against value, especially regarding AI usage.
