Program Manager, Operations Process

Gatik, the leader in autonomous middle-mile logistics, is revolutionizing the B2B supply chain with its autonomous transportation-as-a-service (ATaaS) solution and prioritizing safe, consistent deliveries while streamlining freight movement by reducing congestion. The company focuses on short-haul, B2B logistics for Fortune 500 retailers and in 2021 launched the world’s first fully driverless commercial transportation service with Walmart. Gatik’s Class 3-7 autonomous trucks are commercially deployed across major markets, including Texas, Arkansas, and Ontario, Canada, driving innovation in freight transportation. The company’s proprietary Level 4 autonomous technology, Gatik Carrier™, is custom-built to transport freight safely and efficiently between pick-up and drop-off locations on the middle mile. With robust capabilities in both highway and urban environments, Gatik Carrier™ serves as an all-encompassing solution that integrates advanced software and hardware powering the fleet, facilitating effortless integration into customers’ logistics operations. About the Role Gatik is looking for a detail-oriented, improvement-minded Program Manager, Operations Process to own and improve the workflows that power our autonomous trucking operations. In this role, you will lead process creation, process review, and workflow design, and maintain the templates, standards, and gates that keep quality consistent across every operational workstream. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Operational Excellence, you will partner closely with subject matter experts across Operations, Fleet Maintenance, Safety, Training, and Engineering to turn operational knowledge into clear, standardized, scalable processes. You will be instrumental in maintaining quality and consistency while driving lean practices and continuous improvement. This role is remote in the USA, with travel to sites. What You’ll Do • Own processes end to end. Act as the accountable owner for assigned operational processes across workstreams, keeping them current, consistent, and aligned from start to finish. • Design and maintain workflows. Build, document, and maintain operational workflows, including process maps, SOPs, RACI charts, and handoffs between teams. • Set templates and standards. Create and maintain standard templates for processes, SOPs, work instructions, and change requests so documentation looks and works the same everywhere. • Run process gating. Run quality gates and approvals for new and changed processes so they meet quality, safety, and readiness standards before rollout. • Lead process creation. Partner with stakeholders to scope, design, and launch new processes as operations and markets grow. • Run process reviews. Hold regular reviews to audit existing processes, find gaps or drift, and drive updates. • Partner with subject matter experts. Work closely with SMEs to capture expertise, validate process design, and secure adoption by the teams doing the work. • Drive lean practices. Apply lean tools (value stream mapping, waste elimination, standard work, root cause analysis) to simplify workflows and improve quality and efficiency. • Manage process change. Own version control and change management for process updates, working with Training to make sure changes are communicated and trained before rollout. • Improve continuously. Gather feedback from the field and turn it into targeted process improvements. What We’re Looking For Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. • 5+ years of experience in process engineering, operational excellence, quality, program management, or business process management. • Experience owning and maintaining processes across several teams or workstreams. • Experience designing workflows, writing SOPs, and building documentation templates. • Experience running process review or approval mechanisms. • Working knowledge of lean principles and tools. • Strong ability to work with subject matter experts and turn complex operational knowledge into clear, usable processes. • Proficiency with process mapping and documentation tools such as Lucidchart, Visio, Miro, or Confluence. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in autonomous vehicles, trucking, logistics, fleet maintenance, or other safety-critical operations. • Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt, or equivalent lean training. • Experience with quality management systems or frameworks such as ISO 9001. • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment where processes were still being defined. • Familiarity with change management methodologies such as Prosci or ADKAR. • Experience with workflow tools such as Jira, ServiceNow, or Smartsheet. More about Gatik Founded in 2017 by experts in autonomous vehicle technology, Gatik has rapidly expanded its presence to Mountain View, Dallas-Fort Worth, Arkansas, and Toronto. As the first and only company to achieve fully driverless middle-mile commercial deliveries, Gatik holds a unique and defensible position in the AV industry, with a clear trajectory toward sustainable growth and profitability. We have delivered complete, proprietary AV technology – an integration of software and hardware – to enable earlier successes for our clients in constrained Level 4 autonomy. By choosing the middle mile – with defined point-to-point delivery, we have simplified some of the more complex AV challenges, enabling us to achieve full autonomy ahead of competitors. Given extensive knowledge of Gatik’s well-defined, fixed route ODDs and hybrid architecture, we are able to hyper-optimize our models with exponentially less data, establish gate-keeping mechanisms to maintain explainability, and ensure continued safety of the system for unmanned operations.
