Senior/Staff Software Engineer

Description: Vectara is seeking a Senior/Staff Platform Software Engineer with strong backend development and DevOps experience. The role involves building and scaling core infrastructure for an AI agent platform, focusing on automation, observability, reliability, and performance. Requirements: 5+ years of experience in software engineering, particularly in backend systems and platform engineering. Proficiency in Java and Python. Deep experience with cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Onprem, Azure). Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi). Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK). Experience with ML platforms and supporting ML workloads in production. Experience in designing and operating distributed systems. Familiarity with data infrastructure (e.g., Kafka, Spark, Airflow).
