Software Engineer - Functions (Compute)

Description: Help build & architect the Supabase Compute platform using Firecracker microVMs. Implement monitoring, alerting, and OpenTelemetry tracing to optimize service latency and reliability. Collaborate with open-source teams and relay user requirements. Participate in on-call rotation for production health. Manage features like scheduled functions, background tasks, and custom routing. Integrate Compute with Supabase stack components (Auth, Postgres, Storage, Realtime). Expand Compute runtime for various use cases (AI inference, hosting websites). Improve developer experience for local development and debugging. Requirements: Minimum 5 years of backend or systems engineering experience with proficiency in Rust and TypeScript. Experience with Firecracker, V8 Isolates, Deno, and runtime isolation technologies. Familiarity with operating infrastructure at scale (Kubernetes, AWS, Cloudflare Workers, Redis).
