Senior Product Designer

What do we do? Paddle offers digital product companies a completely different approach to their payments infrastructure. Instead of assembling and maintaining a complex stack of payments-related apps and services, we’re a Merchant of Record for our customers. That means we take away 100% of the pain of payments fragmentation. It’s faster, safer, cheaper, and, above all, way better. We’re backed by investors including KKR, FTV Capital, Kindred, Notion, and 83North and serve over 5000 software sellers in 245 territories globally. The Role We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to lead design for Paddle’s Core Experience team, the horizontal team responsible for the foundations every other product is built on: sign-up, onboarding, the design system, and the overall Seller Experience. The Core Experience team owns the connective, cross-cutting experience that ties Paddle’s products together. This is a different kind of design role. Rather than owning a single product surface, you’ll own the connective tissue that makes Paddle feel like one coherent product. When a seller signs up, gets onboarded, moves between products, or encounters an AI-powered or integrated experience, your work is what makes it feel effortless. You’ll be an active contributor to Paddle’s integration and AI experiences, helping shape how Paddle connects to the wider tooling ecosystem and where AI genuinely improves the seller experience. This role asks for exceptional UI craft, deep design systems expertise, and a genuine curiosity about how AI can change both the products we build and the way we design them. As a holistic problem solver, you’ll operate well beyond pixels, balancing hands-on execution with systems thinking, influence, and a high bar for quality. Embedded in a cross-functional team alongside Product and Engineering, you’ll work in an environment that values ownership, autonomy, and accountability. What you’ll do: • Own the end-to-end design of Paddle’s foundational seller experiences, sign-up, onboarding, and the surfaces that connect our products together, from discovery and concepting through delivery, iteration, and long-term evolution. • Act as a horizontal partner to all other product teams, creating the guidelines, principles, and reusable patterns that keep the experience consistent across the platform as Paddle grows. • Contribute actively to integration and AI experiences, shaping interaction patterns and surfaces, and forming a clear point of view on where AI delivers real user value (and where it gets in the way). • Lead design thinking for foundational work, including information architecture, interaction patterns, accessibility, and scalable component design. • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Stakeholders to define problems, shape solutions, influence roadmaps, and ship high-quality outcomes. • Use research, data, and customer feedback to validate decisions and continuously improve the experience. • Set and uphold quality and craft standards across the product organisation, advocating for user-centred design and a high design bar. • Use storytelling to build alignment and secure buy-in for foundational, cross-cutting work that often spans many teams. • Mentor and support other designers through collaboration, feedback, and critique. • Own and improve the customer experience across a complex B2B platform used by thousands of SaaS companies and millions of their customers. We’d love to hear from you if you: • Bring a strong portfolio with exceptional UI craft, showcasing end-to-end product design with clear problem-solving, interaction design, and visual clarity in complex domains. • Have proven experience owning, building, and maintaining design systems, leading their direction, designing components, writing documentation, establishing governance, and driving adoption across teams. • Are curious about adopting AI in the design process and in the products you build, and can critically assess where AI delivers real user value and translate it into thoughtful, usable experiences. • Are comfortable working horizontally across many teams, aligning stakeholders, balancing competing needs, and creating consistency without slowing teams down. • Communicate design decisions clearly and confidently, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. • Are a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, able to own work from discovery through delivery with minimal oversight. • Have a solid understanding of implementation constraints, responsive design, and accessibility, and collaborate effectively with engineers on delivery. • Possess strong UI design and prototyping skills using Figma, Claude Code (or similar tools). • Have experience designing high-scale, consumer-facing or B2B products, experience in SaaS or fintech, with onboarding journeys, or in foundational/platform design is a plus.
