Server Specialist Job Summary The Server Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining server infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role involves managing physical and virtual servers, storage systems, and related technologies, while providing technical expertise and support to internal teams. Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain Windows/Linux servers and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
Perform regular backups and disaster recovery planning.
Apply security patches and updates to maintain compliance.
Collaborate with network and application teams for system integration.
Document configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
Provide Tier 2/3 support for server-related incidents.
Plan and execute server migrations and upgrades.
Implement and maintain high-availability and failover solutions.
Monitor and optimize resource utilization across servers and storage.
Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards.
Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine tasks (PowerShell, Bash).
Participate in capacity planning and forecasting for server infrastructure.
Assist in cloud integration and hybrid environment management (Azure/AWS).
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and remediation.
