Senior Software Engineer I (Observability Platform)

Description: Join Smartsheet's Observability Engineering team to build and enhance the observability platform for metrics, logs, distributed traces, and events across a global infrastructure. Architect and integrate observability tools with CI/CD, incident management, and other systems to create a seamless experience for engineers. Requirements: 5+ years of experience in building and operating scalable distributed systems and observability infrastructure. Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Python, Java/Kotlin, or TypeScript/Node.js. Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry, high-volume telemetry pipelines, and REST API integration. Advanced knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes, with experience in Terraform and GitOps workflows. Strong technical teaching skills and experience in driving platform adoption.
