Duties and Responsibilities: Business Services · Take ownership of a portfolio of clients requiring monthly, bi-monthly and quarterly management accounts. · Independently prepare and review management reports, financial statements and tax compliance work. · Analyse business performance and provide commercial insights and recommendations to clients. · Develop a strong understanding of each client’s business model, key drivers and performance indicators. · Review and challenge accounting treatments relating to stock, gross profit margins, accruals, prepayments, financing arrangements and fixed assets. · Review work completed by junior and intermediate team members and provide constructive feedback. · Prepare annual financial statements and compliance requirements for companies, trusts and partnerships. · Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management. · Maintain strong client relationships and be a key point of contact for financial and accounting matters. · Ensure client work is delivered on time and within budget. · Know relevant questions to ask and how to ‘drill down’ on technical information. · Ensure compliance and statutory obligations are met. · Understand time and cost budget for a job and can advise on these. Tax · Prepare and review all forms of income tax returns. · Calculate tax obligations for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals. · Identify tax risks and planning opportunities. · Research and apply tax legislation to client circumstances. · Provide practical advice on routine tax issues and escalate complex matters as required. · Review tax positions prepared by other team members. · Experienced in the development of multiple scenarios for year-end tax planning purposes. Leadership & Team Support · Supervise the workflow of 1-2 team members. · Review work and provide coaching and technical guidance. · Assist with training and development of team members. · Help allocate work and manage deadlines across the team. · Support continuous improvement initiatives and process efficiencies. · Act as a technical resource for accounting, tax and management reporting queries. · Foster a collaborative, positive and high-performing team environment.
