We are looking for a detail-oriented, experienced Bookkeeper to own the day-to-day accounting operations that keep our finance function accurate, current, and audit-ready. ## Position Summary The Bookkeeper is responsible for the full scope of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting operations in QuickBooks, excluding client invoicing. This role owns accounts payable processing through Bill.com, sales commission calculation and payment tracking, and the ongoing management of prepaid expenses, accruals, and deferred revenue. The Bookkeeper also plays a lead role in the monthly close process and supports year-end close, tax preparation, and audit activities. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical accounting skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently. ## Key Responsibilities General Ledger & QuickBooks Management
- Maintain and reconcile all QuickBooks accounts, including bank and credit card accounts, and ensure the chart of accounts is accurate and well-organized.
- Record and review journal entries, ensuring transactions are properly classified and supported.
- Maintain accurate, well-organized supporting documentation for all entries and transactions.
- Own all bookkeeping functions in QuickBooks other than client invoicing and accounts receivable generation. Accounts Payable & Bill.com
- Process vendor bills and payments through Bill.com, including bill entry, coding, approval routing, and payment execution.
- Maintain vendor records, resolve billing discrepancies, and monitor open AP for accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile Bill.com activity to QuickBooks on a regular basis. Commissions
- Calculate and process sales commission payments in accordance with the company's commission plan.
- Maintain commission tracking schedules and reconcile commission expense and payable balances.
- Coordinate with sales leadership and finance on commission questions, adjustments, and clawback tracking as applicable. Prepaids, Accruals & Deferred Revenue
- Maintain prepaid expense schedules and record monthly amortization entries.
- Identify and record accrued expenses and accrued liabilities each month.
- Maintain deferred revenue schedules, ensure revenue recognition ties to underlying contracts and milestones, and reconcile the deferred revenue balance monthly. Month-End & Year-End Close
