Backend Architect - Golang
About this role
Description: Lead the backend team as a hands-on Backend Architect (Golang) while writing 70% of the time in Golang. Set technical direction for a backend platform serving millions of users, focusing on architecture decisions for distributed services that are fast, reliable, and secure. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. 8+ years of backend engineering & architecture experience with 5+ years in Golang. Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems at scale with deep understanding of networking protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS). Hands-on experience with VPN protocols (WireGuard, OpenVPN, IPsec), tunneling, NAT traversal, and low-latency networking. Production experience on AWS (EC2, EKS, S3, Aurora/RDS) with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and strong Linux development background. Working knowledge of cryptography fundamentals, threat modeling methodologies, secure coding practices, and strong API design skills.
